Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Environmental Geologist to join our team in Mbeya, Tanzania.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, monitoring and evaluating environmental projects, and providing technical advice to governments and other stakeholders.

The position will also involve working closely with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and monitoring and evaluation of environmental projects
  • Provide technical advice to governments and other stakeholders on environmental conservation and sustainable development
  • Work closely with local communities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation
  • Develop and implement environmental policies and strategies
  • Collaborate with other UNEP teams and partners to achieve common goals

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Geology or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainable development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Environmental Geology or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience

The successful candidate must have at least 8-12 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainable development, with a strong background in environmental geology.

Salary

The salary for this position is 5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
