Job Overview

The Environmental Impact Specialist will play a critical role in our conservation efforts in Tanzania. This position will be responsible for assessing the environmental impact of our projects and programs, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to mitigate any negative effects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, or a related field, and will be able to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.

This is a full-time position based in Tunduru, Tanzania, and will require regular travel to project sites throughout the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments for our projects and programs
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental impacts
• Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective conservation outcomes
• Monitor and report on project progress and environmental performance

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

Education

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation or a related field, with a strong background in project management, community engagement, and environmental impact assessment.

Salary

The salary for this position is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
