Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality control department in Dar es Salaam. This critical role is responsible for ensuring that every product leaving our facility meets the stringent safety and quality standards required by both local regulations and international benchmarks. The successful candidate will oversee laboratory operations, manage compliance audits, and implement continuous improvement strategies to optimize production quality. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO and FSSC standards.
• Oversee daily laboratory testing of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
• Lead internal and external audits to ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
• Manage and mentor a team of quality technicians and laboratory analysts.
• Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with the production team to minimize waste and optimize process efficiency.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and conduct periodic vendor audits.

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and HACCP principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities regarding chemical and microbiological testing.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong communication skills for reporting to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline is mandatory. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Quality Management is highly preferred.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance within the FMCG or beverage industry. Proven experience in managing large-scale laboratory operations and leading audit processes is essential for success in this role.
