Job Overview

This role leads the development and implementation of sustainable practices across Olam’s agricultural supply chain in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will bridge environmental stewardship with operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards while supporting local economic growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute sustainability strategies for agricultural supply chain operations
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and other environmental standards
  • Collaborate with farmers to implement eco-friendly farming techniques
  • Monitor carbon footprint and resource usage across supply chain nodes
  • Develop reports for stakeholders on sustainability performance metrics

Required Skills

  • Expertise in supply chain sustainability frameworks (e.g., UN Global Compact)
  • Proficiency in life cycle assessment (LCA) tools
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making
  • Fluency in Swahili and English
  • Project management experience in agricultural contexts

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degree (Master’s) preferred but not required.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in supply chain sustainability roles, preferably within agricultural sectors. Demonstrated success in implementing green logistics solutions.

Salary

4,000,000 – 5,500,000 TSH Annually, commensurate with experience.
