Job Overview

Heifer International is seeking a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Ruvuma, Tanzania. The successful candidate will work with farmers and communities to promote sustainable agriculture practices and improve food security.

The Sustainable Agriculture Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture projects, providing training and technical assistance to farmers, and monitoring and evaluating project impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable agriculture projects that promote food security and improve livelihoods
  • Provide training and technical assistance to farmers on sustainable agriculture practices
  • Monitor and evaluate project impact and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including farmers, community leaders, and government officials
  • Develop and manage project budgets and reports

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and principles
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with local stakeholders
