Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA department at Nestlé’s Arusha manufacturing plant, ensuring that all products meet the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Regional QA Director, the manager will oversee the implementation of HACCP, ISO 22000, and internal quality protocols, driving continuous improvement and compliance across the production line. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with international standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are documented and resolved promptly.
- Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to embed quality controls throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor critical control points, analyze trends, and initiate preventive measures to reduce non‑conformities.
- Manage a team of QA specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Prepare detailed quality reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, and local food safety regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Proficiency with quality management software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
