Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Financial Analyst will support the finance team in evaluating, modeling, and reporting on renewable energy investments across Tanzania. The analyst will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to assess financial viability, risk, and return on investment for solar farms, wind parks, and emerging green technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams, and tax incentives.
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate project risk and profitability under varying market conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to gather technical data and ensure financial assumptions reflect realistic project parameters.
  • Monitor project performance post‑implementation, tracking key financial metrics and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes for the renewable energy portfolio.
  • Stay updated on Tanzanian energy policies, carbon pricing mechanisms, and international financing options.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, project finance, and investment appraisal techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or an MBA with a focus on energy finance are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the energy sector or infrastructure project finance. Experience with renewable energy projects, power purchase agreements, or public‑private partnerships will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,000,000 to SSP 3,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
