Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all Nestlé Tanzania products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with production, research & development, and supply chain teams, the specialist will implement and monitor quality systems, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 quality management systems.
- Conduct regular internal audits and coordinate external audits with regulatory bodies.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and ensure corrective actions are documented and executed.
- Analyze product samples using microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing methods.
- Collaborate with R&D to validate new product formulations and packaging materials.
- Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to senior management.
- Support investigations of customer complaints and product recalls.
- Train production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Tanzanian food safety regulations and international standards.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations (TFDA, Codex Alimentarius).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, SPSS) and data interpretation.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Ability to lead audits and drive corrective actions.
- Familiarity with ERP or QMS software (SAP QM, TrackWise).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to multinational operations.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package also includes performance‑based bonuses and statutory benefits.
