Job Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the bank’s data protection framework, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian data privacy legislation, the African Union’s data protection guidelines, and international standards such as GDPR. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and enforce the bank’s data privacy policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, products, and services.
• Monitor compliance with Tanzanian Data Protection Act, regional regulations, and international best practices.
• Provide guidance and training to business units on privacy obligations and risk mitigation.
• Manage data subject access requests, breach notifications, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with IT security teams to implement technical safeguards such as encryption, anonymization, and access controls.
• Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits related to data privacy.
• Maintain a register of processing activities and ensure lawful bases for data processing.

Salary
