Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Project Manager to join our team in Singida, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing conservation projects in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental conservation, project management, and community engagement. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be based in Singida, Tanzania. The salary range is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage conservation projects in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and timelines, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Build and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders, and ensure that their needs and concerns are addressed.

Monitor and evaluate project progress, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure that projects are meeting their objectives.

Ensure that all project activities are carried out in accordance with The Nature Conservancy’s policies and procedures, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Required Skills

Strong background in environmental conservation, project management, and community engagement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field.

Experience

8-12 years of experience in environmental conservation, project management, and community engagement.

Salary

500,000 – 700,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.
