Job Overview

This position is part of WSP Global’s initiative to enhance urban resilience in Tanzanian communities. The Urban Resilience Planner will design and implement strategies to mitigate climate risks, improve infrastructure sustainability, and foster community adaptation to environmental changes. The role requires collaboration with municipal authorities, NGOs, and local stakeholders to develop actionable urban resilience frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct climate risk assessments for urban areas in Tunduru and surrounding regions
• Develop urban resilience plans integrating green infrastructure and disaster preparedness
• Collaborate with local governments to align projects with national sustainability goals
• Engage communities in participatory planning workshops to identify local needs
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of resilience initiatives using data-driven metrics

Required Skills

• Proven experience in urban planning or environmental sustainability projects
• Proficiency in GIS mapping and climate modeling software
• Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-cultural communication skills
• Ability to analyze policy frameworks and propose innovative solutions

Education
