Job Overview
The Network Optimization Engineer will be responsible for enhancing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of Orange Tanzania’s radio access network. This role involves analyzing network data, designing optimization strategies, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement improvements that support the growing demand for high‑speed mobile services. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive drive‑tests and performance measurements to identify network bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement optimization plans for radio parameters, handover settings, and load balancing.
- Collaborate with Radio Planning, Core Network, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of optimization actions.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools and AI‑driven platforms to predict traffic trends and proactively address capacity challenges.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, and GSM/UMTS network architectures.
- Proficiency in network analysis tools such as Atoll, TEMS, or NEMO.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and data‑driven decision making.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple optimization projects simultaneously.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Ericsson) are considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in mobile network optimization, preferably within a major telecom operator or a consulting firm serving the telecom sector. Experience with 5G rollout projects is highly desirable.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,000,000 to 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
