Job Overview

The Clinical Research Coordinator will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of clinical trials and health research projects conducted at AKHS Mwanza Hospital. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of clinical trials, including participant recruitment, enrollment, and follow‑up.
• Prepare and review study documents such as informed consent forms, case report forms, and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date trial records in electronic data capture systems.
• Monitor trial progress, ensure protocol adherence, and report deviations to the Principal Investigator.
• Facilitate communication between study sponsors, investigators, ethics committees, and laboratory services.
• Assist in budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking for research projects.
• Conduct site visits and audits to verify data integrity and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Provide training and support to research staff and volunteers.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and Tanzanian regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in electronic data capture (EDC) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in clinical research (e.g., CCRA, ACRP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience coordinating clinical trials or health research projects, preferably within a hospital or research institute setting. Experience with international multi‑site studies is an advantage.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,000,000 to 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary reviews are conducted annually.
