Job Overview
The Procurement Manager will lead the strategic sourcing and purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging, equipment, and services essential to TBL’s production lines. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the role involves developing cost‑effective procurement strategies, negotiating with local and international suppliers, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and Tanzanian regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with production, quality, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement plans with business objectives, thereby supporting the company’s growth and maintaining its competitive edge in the market. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies that reduce costs while maintaining quality and supply continuity.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, ensuring they meet TBL’s standards for sustainability, ethical practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to achieve optimal value for the organization.
- Collaborate with production planners to forecast material requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, conduct regular audits, and address any non‑conformities promptly.
- Prepare and manage the annual procurement budget, providing accurate forecasts and variance analysis.
- Lead a team of procurement officers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to Tanzanian procurement laws, corporate governance policies, and AB InBev’s global standards.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data‑driven decision making.
- In‑depth knowledge of supply chain best practices and procurement software (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle Procurement).

Education
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management within the manufacturing sector is required. Prior experience in the beverage industry or working for a multinational corporation will be viewed favorably. Demonstrated success in cost‑reduction initiatives, supplier development, and managing large‑scale contracts is essential.
Salary
