Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale renewable energy projects in the Lake Victoria region. Reporting to the Head of Renewable Operations, the incumbent will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in advancing TotalEnergies Tanzania’s strategic objectives, contributing to national energy security, and supporting Tanzania Jobs initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving innovation, optimizing resource allocation, and delivering projects on time and within budget, thereby enhancing the company’s reputation as a leader in clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and legal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage relationships with government agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to secure permits and maintain compliance.
- Monitor project performance, prepare progress reports, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Lead contract negotiations with EPC contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or a Renewable Energy certification are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of proven experience managing renewable energy projects, preferably in solar, wind, or hydro power. Experience in Tanzania or East Africa, familiarity with local regulatory frameworks, and a track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget are essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
