Job Overview

Join Schneider Electric Tanzania as a Smart Energy Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize energy solutions that integrate renewable energy sources with smart grid technologies. This role is critical in supporting Tanzania’s transition to sustainable energy systems and enhancing energy resilience in underserved regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop smart energy systems incorporating solar, wind, and grid-tied solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for energy projects in rural and urban areas.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify energy needs and tailor solutions to community requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain energy systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical training to local teams on system operation and maintenance.
  • Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing smart energy systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies and grid integration.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, PVsyst).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in remote environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Commitment to sustainability and community development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in energy systems engineering, preferably in Africa.
  • Project management experience in renewable energy or smart grid initiatives.

Salary

5,000,000 – 8,000,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
