Job Description

The Procurement and Logistics Officer will be responsible for overseeing supplier sourcing, procurement planning, inventory monitoring, logistics coordination, transportation management, and procurement compliance to support smooth organizational operations.

The role requires expertise in vendor management, cost optimization, supply chain processes, procurement regulations, contract negotiation, and logistics performance management.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Management

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers, vendors, and service providers for goods, equipment, and operational materials.
  • Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, delivery timelines, and supplier agreements to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance including delivery schedules, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with company policies and Tanzania procurement regulations, including PPRA guidelines.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, warehouse stock, consumables, and procurement records to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, shipment tracking, freight handling, and goods distribution.
  • Resolve delivery delays, customs clearance issues, and transportation disruptions efficiently.
  • Optimize logistics routes and transportation costs to improve operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate records for inventory transactions, shipment logs, procurement documents, and stock reconciliation.

Experience Requirements
